“Yuri Dolgoruky” is being launched
Crucial operation was arranged on the 12th of February in FSUE “PO “Sevmash” water areas. Nuclear submarine “Yuri Dolgoruky” was launched from floating dock.
Submarine launching marked serious stage of works which were carried out after moving submarine from slip way shop. At present time “Yuri Dolgoruky” is moored near outfitting quay. Submarine will be tested and commissioned to Naval Fleet according to general building schedule.
The head missile carrier of the 4th generation “Yuri Dolgoruky” is designed by FSUE CDB MT “Rubin”. Great support in submarine building is given by Moscow government. Agreement regarding cooperation, signed between Moscow government and Sevmash provides patronage of building the whole series of submarines of this project. Now two missile carriers are being built at Sevmash: “Alexander Nevsky” and “Vladimir Monomakh”.
