 TBW Alliance re-affirms partnership with Wilhelmsen Ships ServiceJune 16, 2009 - The world's leading maritime services network, Wilhelmsen Ships Service, is pleased to announce that TBW Alliance, comprising Teekay Shipping Limited and BW Fleet Management, has renewed their core products contract with the company for the next two years, with an option to extend for a third year.
The Nor-Shipping 2009 exhibition in Oslo provided an ideal venue for senior management of BW Fleet Management and Wilhelmsen Ships Service to meet and show their commitment to the agreement. Meeting were Morten Steen Martinsen, President of BW Fleet Management AS, Tor-Egil Gjulem, Purchasing Manager in BW Fleet Management AS, the president of Wilhelmsen Ships Service, David Tandy and Baard Bjoerlow, Regional Vice President, Europe, for Wilhelmsen Ships Service.
The contract is worth an estimated US$ 4.5 million per year. Wilhelmsen Ships Service will supply chemicals, refrigerants, gases, and welding products as well as consumables. The company will be supplying all vessels in the TBW Alliance, which include approximately 250 vessels from Teekay Shipping Limited, BW Offshore and BW Fleet Management.
The agreement extends the existing partnership with these two large and influential shipping companies, and provides a good foundation for continuing to work together on further innovations and initiatives.
