 Hyundai Heavy Industries Localizes Submerged Cargo Oil PumpAug. 13, 2009 - HHI succeeded in beginning home production of submerged cargo oil pumps (2,800kW) to be installed at the crude oil storage tank farm in Ulsan which is being built by Korea National Oil Corporation.
The pump developed by HHI is to be installed at the bottom of oil storage tanks to export oil. To operate properly under these circumstances, the pumps require advanced technology such as cable-free features and incident prevention functions.
The newly developed pump is expected to be welcomed by the market and act as an import substitute.
