 Wilhelmsen Ships Service is Hub agent choice for Cruise West world adventureCruise West, based in Seattle, USA, has appointed Wilhelmsen Ships Service to act as Hub Agents for their new epic world adventure, 'Voyages of the Great Explorers', onboard the Spirit of Oceanus in 2010/11
Aug. 31, 2009 - The voyage will involve a 335-day circumnavigation of the globe made up of 24 distinct voyages that can be purchased individually, in multiple segments or the entire circumnavigation. This project will entail more than 240 port calls, for which Wilhelmsen Ships Service will be the primary hub agent and the attending ships agents of record for the majority of port calls that take place over the course of the 2010 and 2011 voyages.
The hub operation will be run through Wilhelmsen Ships Service's Houston offices in the USA. The hub agency offer includes port call management, disbursement account management and cash management, with an online operational system available for system integration.
Bryce Brockway, Cruise West's vice president of marine operations, explained some of the complexities of the assignment. "Operating a voyage of this magnitude requires working with a top-notch ship agent that is not only qualified, savvy and proven, but understands Cruise West's approach to exploration cruising. Our relationship with Wilhelmsen Ships Service is key to making sure our guests and crew benefit from a seamless experience every time the ship pulls into a new port. Knowing the inner workings of each port of call is essential in making this epic world cruise a success."
