 Wilhelmsen Ships Service Qatar marks 10th anniversarySep. 9, 2009 - Wilhelmsen Ships Service Qatar Ltd celebrated its 10th anniversary on 23 July 2009. The company's facility in Doha was established in 1999 as part of Barwil, later becoming a member of the Wilhelmsen Ships Service global network. From here vessels calling in port are provided with quality ships agency services by the team which has grown to 55 marine professionals over the past decade. During this time the offer has been expanded to include freight forwarding, local logistics and a broad range of Unitor quality marine products and technical services.
Richard Mogg, Wilhelmsen Ships Service's Area Director for the Middle East reflects on a period of steady progress: "Over the last 10 years Wilhelmsen Ships Service Qatar has delivered one of the most impressive track records of growth in our network. Qatar itself has grown so fast it is not always an easy location to manage operations, but we have gone from strength to strength in the quality and breadth of service we offer."
He adds "Led by a strong management team headed by Captain Svein Nymoen, the commitment of the staff in recent years has been the key to success. Ships Agency, Maritime Logistics and Project Forwarding have been main areas of development, but in the last few weeks we now are able to stock and distribute a selection of our Marine products for which there has been strong demand from many customers."
