Key appointment at Wilhelmsen Ships Service to head new Melbourne Customer Services
Following the establishment of a new Customer Services base in Melbourne, Australia, Wilhelmsen Ships Service has appointed a Customer Services Manager, Michael Mellefont, to focus on the company's ship agency and maritime logistics business. These services constitute the majority of the company's current business in the region.
Michael has many years experience in ships agency operations, and for the past three years has been Shipping Manager for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania for Wilhelmsen Ships Service.
Customer Service functions for marine products and technical services business in the Area Oceania will continue to be handled by the Singapore Customer Services of Wilhelmsen Ships Service for the time being, but the Melbourne office expects to gradually take over more responsibility for these sectors of the company's business in future.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service is preparing to handle the expected increase in service agreements with a number of Australian shipping companies in the coming months. The company also anticipates a rise in the volume of business from its Ships Spares Logistics offer to customers in the region.
