Damen Offshore Patrol Vessel 6610 Delivery
On September 22, 2010 the ceremony for the delivery of an OPV6610 for the Romanian Border Police took place in Constanta.
Mr Ioan Buda, General Inspector for the Border Police signed the Delivery - Acceptance Protocol together with Mr Vadim Akimov, Sales Manager Europe of Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in The Netherlands.
This prestigious project, which was made possible through Schengen funding, started with the signing of the new-building contract on January 12, 2009.
This state of the art Maritime Surveillance Vessel will enable the Romanian Border Police to further enhance its capabilities with respect to border control and security.
The Stefan cel Mare - 'MAI 1105' will be the largest and most sophisticated vessel in the fleet and will patrol the border from her home port in Constanta.
