Wilhelmsen Ships Service to present Water Treatment Seminar at Seatrade Middle East MaritimeWilhelmsen Ships Service is to present a seminar outlining the importance of how the right water treatment maintains and extends the life of onboard boilers. The seminar will take place during Sea Trade Middle East Maritime on Wednesday 27 October 2010 at 1225 hours at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, UAE which runs from 26 - 28 October 2010.
Presenting the seminar is Andrew Simmons, Chemicals Product Specialist at Wilhelmsen Ships Service. He explains the importance of the boiler maintenance. "Like engines, generators, and other onboard equipment, a boiler is significant investment to a ship owner, and therefore it is important for this investment to be protected to maximise the longevity of the products," he says. "The key elements of the seminar are to make ship owners and ship management companies aware of the different effects of boiler water treatment onboard the vessels. If the boilers and condensate systems are not maintained well, then there will be serious consequences."
He adds, "We will focus on water chemistry, feed water problems and issues, condensate corrosion, dangers pertaining to incorrect treatment of systems and the products that are available today to prevent these issues." Full information on the seminar can be found at www.seatrade-middleeast.com
Wilhelmsen Ships Service will be exhibiting on Stand No. N2 during the show. As well as presenting the Water Treatment Seminar, the company will also be hosting a cocktail party for its mainly Middle East and Indian sub-continent customers in the presence of the Ambassador of Norway, Mrs Åse Elin Bjerke. During this time customers will be presented with the two recent Wilhelmsen Ships Service's offers, Ships Agency Re-Defined and Ships Spares Logistics, both of which have revolutionised and simplified the way customers can do business in the shipping industry. The company's highly popular Liferaft Exchange Scheme will also be in the spotlight.
Meanwhile Wilhelmsen Ships Service has also been shortlisted for a prestigious Seatrade Award, in the category of Best Ship Agent Award. The ceremony will take place in the Atlantis Ballroom on Monday 25th October.
