Nov. 1, 2010 - Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Singapore has been appointed by Odfjell Tankers AS to provide ships agency services in Singapore. The full agency agreement starts immediately and will add a further 20 port calls per month to the Wilhelmsen Ships Service portfolio.
Odfjell Tankers is a leading global provider of ocean transportation of bulk liquid chemicals, acids, edible oils and other special products, with headquarters in Bergen, Norway. Most of the ships are equipped with stainless steel tanks, while some have zinc or epoxy coated cargo tanks.
"We feel privileged that we have been chosen out of the strong competition vying for this business," comments John Lim, Ships Agency Manager for Wilhelmsen Ships Service Singapore. "Odfjell has exacting standards and we look forward to working with the company."
Wilhelmsen Ships Service SE Asia Area Director Niall Denholm states, "Odfjell is a well known and much respected principal. Therefore we are very pleased not only to be further expanding our business relationship, but also to be welcoming three Odfjell personnel who are joining our team. This ensures that their years of experience and service remain within the agency team and that service levels will not be compromised by the transition."
