Two Damen tugs for Svitzer Middle East
Damen Shipyards Group has signed a contract with Svitzer Middle East for the delivery of two Damen Stan Tugs 1606. The contract was signed during the second day of Seatrade Middle East Maritime exhibition in Dubai.
Svitzer is in need for both tugs due to a recent charter contract with Danish stevedoring giant APM Terminals for tugboat services in the new Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain.
The STu 1606 is a standard designed 16,76 meter long tug with a bollard pull of 16 tons. Damen will deliver the tugs on short notice ‘from stock’ from the yard in Changde, China.
The contract was signed by Mr. Lars Seistrup, Chief Operating Officer of Svitzer Middle East, and Mr. Bram Langeveld, Sales Manager Middle East of Damen Shipyards Group.
