Arrival of 15 Damen Stan Pontoons in Rotterdam
Recently, the semi-submersible vessel Zhen Hua 29 arrived in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) after a seven week journey from Shanghai (China). The vessel transported 15 Stan Pontoons and a Transshipment Barge from Damen Shipyards Group.
De pontoons were discharged at the quayside of heavy lift company Mammoet, which owns two of the Damen Stan Pontoons. Seven further pontoons have already been sold to European clients and are continue their journey to their new owners. The other eight and the Transshipment Barge are destined for Damen’s stock, which is being kept for the purpose of (very) fast delivery. Negotiations have started with a number of potential customers.
The Transshipment Barge hull will be completely finished first, including the outfitting with a Liebherr CBG 350 Crane. All pontoons in Damen’s standardised range are prepared for installing optional equipment. Pumps, winches, generator sets, navigation or lighting are easy to install, ensuring a fast delivery, even when a pontoon is to be fully equipped.
